The sunlight looks white but it is made up of more colors - Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red. These colors have different powers to scatter in the sky. Blue is the most powerul color at scattering widely around and the sky appears mostly blue. But during early morning and evening time, sunlight passes through more air. So our eyes see Red, Orange and Yellow colors scattered along with Blue. Since Red, Yellow and Orange are brighter colors, the sky appears to look orange.
